Celebrateing Life, Celebrateing 16 years of Marriage

Who would have ever thought that a shy California Girl would move to Alaska and meet the love of her life? Well. it happened over 20 years ago and The US Coast Guard had a small part in it. You see, She came up to Alaska, while in The Coast Guard. Upon exciting her service time, she applied to attend the university and stayed. She met a very out going and affectionate Native Alaskan man, who was not affraid of hard work (and still isn't) and fell in love. Three kids and 16 years later, they are still a family. Times have been hard and full of personal challenges, but by God's grace they have plowed through those difficult and uncertain times. We have made many friends in our small community of Soldotna and feel blessed to own our own home.
Life is full of challenges, but if the challenges are met with perserverence and a willingness to bend, great things can happen. The future looks bright right now. There are dreams yet to make real, but with time and common sence planning (gee, I sound like my dad) anything is possible.PTL

Happy New Year and New Opportunities

School is back on and the kids are busy again. It snowed for two days straight just before Christmas, so the kids had a lot of snow to play in. Samuel loves to build and Santa brought him lots of real tools to learn to use. Iggy got some new tools, too. Michal is all about dolls, so she got some new ones to add to her collection. Grades came out and the girls are doing great! Sam struggles with school and is not doing as well this quarter as last quarter, but we still have high hopes for him.

Alaska's Keyes Family: Winter colds get blown away, family is well again!

Alaska's Keyes Family: Winter colds get blown away, family is well again!

Merry Christmas

Ahhhh, Christmas Memories...they are a great thing! We have a lot of great family Christmas memories. Here in Alaska we have a white Christmas every year and the Keyes children love playing in the snow. What they enjoy the most is unwrapping presents, of course.
Merry Chistmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year to all our friends and family memebers! May your Chistmas and New Years hold great blessing and wonderful surprises for you and your family. As we attend church, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. This should be one of the joyest times of the year for everyone, but we know, realistically, that there are many people in need of food, shelter, and friendship. So, this is our prayer for you.
Our tree has been up since Dec. 1 and our letters to Santa are yet to be written, probably this weekend. The children are looking forward to their vacation time away from school and mom and dad are busy getting ready for the holidays. Soldotna Trustworthy Hardware, in Soldotna, has already had their Employee Christmas party and it was great as always!

Winter colds get blown away, family is well again!

I am no longer playing with Fanbox. I got really tired of them not working right and now I can't even pull up my page. So, do not try to acess my fanbox page.

This is my new websight to post thing this family needs to say.The kids have all finally had their winter colds and the cold is finally reached our part of the state, but we are ready.
We have three dogs, Happy fox (Alaskan Huskey-pictured), Chico (doxon), and memo (long haired chiwawa). We love our animals!
